Slow Moving Story

Definitely heard better. It’s a very long audiobook for a story that probably could’ve been done in half the time if you’re gonna do that long on an audiobook maybe focus more on the quest too. The story ramble on about minuscule stuff in the village, but when the quest finally comes about it’s over very quickly.

Just what I needed - enchanting epic romantasy story of a Brigadoon style village hidden in magic.

Marrowdell provides all they need and while everyone else has an awareness of the magic of Jenn Nalynn, she is utterly unaware.

This is the story of her awakening, her longing to travel beyond her village and her belief that she’ll be able to if she marries.

She makes her ideal partner with an ancient magic, just as the love of her life arrives in the village.

Which will she pick, the twisted by magic ideal partner or the lover she always wanted?

Easy listening 🎧 to Jen Jayden’s superb narration and Julie Czerneda’s excellent world building, endeared me to Marrowdell and the few families that live there. Toads with eggs and stones are a strange and lovely touch as too, the many magical beings of the Verge.

Can’t wait to get the next adventure!
