From the very beginning, the warning signs were there, yet love blinded her to the inevitable. When you’re a kind and decent person, you want to believe the best in others. But some people see your goodness as an opportunity to exploit your naivety, breaking your spirit piece by piece—physically, emotionally, mentally, and sexually. To them, you are not a person but an object to dominate and humiliate.

How do you escape?
How do you find the strength to leave when your Christian faith teaches that marriage is a sacred, lifelong covenant? What about your children? What will people say—especially those in your church? Where will you go? What will you do? These questions hold you in a grip of fear and isolation.
It feels impossible to break free.
Depression consumes you.
You feel lost, abandoned, and utterly alone.
If only you had understood God’s true intentions for marriage before stepping into the darkness.
