From the #1 bestselling and USA Today best-selling author Jack Mars (with over 10,000 five-star reviews) comes a groundbreaking new political thriller series: when the President of the United States or his family are threatened, it is up to Jake Mercer, former Marine sniper turned Secret Service agent, to protect them from dangers—both foreign and domestic.

The ancient city of Istanbul becomes a deadly chessboard when the President is abducted during a diplomatic mission. Secret Service Agent Jake Mercer must outwit a rogue military faction in a pulse-pounding pursuit through bazaars and back alleys. Can he rescue the President before a forced statement ignites an international crisis?

the Jake Mercer series starts out strong, but as the books keep coming, the storyline never seems to change. President makes dumb decisions. Jake Mercer saves his life.
As for the performance - I really like this narrator with one constant exception-- mispronouncing the word ESCAPE. Throughout the book the narrator says "Ek-scape". As a professional narrator, I would expect high quality knowledge of words. They should be pronounced correctly. Everytime this word was used it made me cringe. So.e would say that's a silly criticism, but it did take away from the experience.

Not really new....but good

Leaves you ready for a sequel. No new plot twists could use some new material as this is book 6. A 5 hour listen that should be combined with book 5 for tis price

Good listen

This was another great story from Jack Mars of Jake trying to get his friend, father-in-law and The President of the United States, Brian, out of another crazy situation that Brian has put himself in through his own decisions and of course not listening to Jake. The story was great, somewhat plausible, and the details, although some of the reality is stretched and inaccurate when it comes to weapons and tactics, of Africa and the dynamics and landscape there is great. This meets the standards of what I have come to expect from Jack Mars in this series.

However, the recording and absolutely the editing of this audio book is completely below the standards of what Jack Mars should accept for one of his novels. There multiple repeated sentences, background noises and there was an entire section that talked about North and South Korea, sheila, being kidnapped, and Brian having to go on with his presidential duties in the middle of this situation. Not only does this not have anything to do with the story line of what is going on in Africa, because I have listened to all of the other previous novels and not encountered anything that relates to a storyline involving North and South Korea, I now know that something like this is coming and it has spoiled that further novel when I get to it.

Jack should demand that the company that produced this recording, reproduce and re-release it at their cost and Audible should refund all listeners who have downloaded this novel and provided them with a new copy of it is produced.

Below the standards of Jack Mars and spoiler alert
