The Campground Kids get their feet wet on this oceanic adventure as they explore Acadia National Park. After their whale-watching expedition on the Unsinkable II, the family picks up Noah, Ethan’s smug cousin, as they head to Duck Harbor Campground.

The next day, the group returns from an early morning hike to find the campground completely deserted! Noah uses his trusty amateur radio to signal for help only to find that a hurricane is bearing down on their location.

Can The Campground Kids find protection from the storm, guide an oil ship to safety, and prevent an environmental disaster in Acadia National Park?

My daughter bought this book at her school book fair. We read it together and I found it enjoyable but a bit long. We had been reading the Boxcar Children series which tend to wrap it up in a timely manner. That said, that was my only complaint with Acadia Discovery. Otherwise, it was full of action and adventure. I will say we read 20 chapters aloud together and I purchased the audiobook to power through the last 9. Looking back I probably would have gone full audiobook for the entirety of the book. The narrator was excellent and did not loose steam like this mortal😀 Last thing, the story does not overplay environmental issues or have a political slant as I would have feared from a modern author. It sticks to being educational even though there were a few tears lost for dead crabs 🦀…

Exciting and engaging for kids. We just visited Acadia in our travels and it was fun for them to listen to this and connect with it.
