I ran from the altar only to land in the arms… ahem… bed of my ridiculously hot ex.

Now he's a crazy rich single dad, and the reason for my baby bump.

That night, I entered the bar looking like a runaway bride cliché with only five bucks stuffed in my bra.

"You look like you need a drink," Oliver says in a voice deeper and huskier than I remember.

A few shots later, and all I want is his body driving me wild like only he can.

The next morning, as the haze lifts, I remember the shocking reason we broke up all those years ago and why it could never work between us.

But now I'm living in the cabin on his property.

Blurring lines as neighbors-with-benefits.

Spending time with his adorable son and feeling like a family.

And as I look at those two little pink lines, it hits me…

This beautiful accident might be what finally brings us together.

Get ready to fall in love with Oliver and Lexie in this spicy and heartfelt rollercoaster of a romance. It's a standalone with no cheating and a very satisfying HEA!

There’s a lot to unpack here. First, this isn’t really what I was expecting. It’s not in any way, shape, or form lighthearted. No comedy, fun, or anything like that. Not a palate cleanser. If you’re looking for a good cry, you’ll find it here. This is kind of a girl-power, women’s fiction, really imo. Of course there are very well done steamy bits, but still it’s, “ hey, let’s have great sex, but we can’t be together bc I can’t trust you, forget you…” and that’s about 85-90% of the book. No joke. It took that long to get to the crux of the problem from the past, so there was a lot of angst, repetitive upset that didn’t need to be there, and no forward motion in the relationship. That said, the narrators did a decent job, although the male narrator’s accent was more Louisiana than Texas imo, but it didn’t ruin the story, their voices were pleasing and character-appropriate. The storylines were all good, even if they were drawn out. I guess I’d maybe recommend this one if you like angst and second chance romance. They’re just not my cup of tea.
