As a prequel, this short technothriller does a fantastic job of setting the stage, exploring the origins of the enigmatic Vist and the oppressive technological systems that dominate society. It's a perfect, bite-sized introduction that leaves you eager to dive into the main series.

this is only about an hour long, it feels rich with world-building. The emotional bond between Min and Lez gives the narrative real heart I also appreciated the inclusion of Vist, whose decision to help relocate their people beneath

Fascinating Introduction

This was my first experience with this author's work. The audiobook was short, but the brief introduction opened a world of possibilities and complex worldbuilding. I was intrigued by the characters Min and Lez, and this brief story has made me wonder about their backstories, and how they came to be where they were in this tale. I thought Hilary White's narration was good, and her performance enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.
