After America: The Collapse–Book 1

Post Apocalyptic Survival and Adventure Fiction

By 2038, the apocalypse had been years in the making. The only question was—would it be caused by a financial collapse, a nuclear war, or a bio-weapon. No one thought the end of the United States would result from all three.

Walt knew things were bad, but like most Americans, he felt the government would muddle through and keep its citizens safe. He was wrong. Too many politicians worked hard to line their pockets while not ensuring America would stay strong and survive. Walt and his loved ones have to face the apocalypse and the ramifications of life AFTER AMERICA no longer exists.

Walt isn’t prepared but is resourceful and puts his heart into surviving. He finds like-minded men and women with skills that increase their chances of surviving, but are their efforts too little too late? America is gone, and humanity has been decimated. Can Walt lead a determined group to a better life while the world circles the drain?

It was ok but not anything different than many dystopian books you have read before. I won’t continue the series.

Not very exciting, very predictable, story was dull and the voice of the reader didn’t help make it any more enjoyable.

If you've never heard of the term "vocal fry," you should look it up because that is what this narrator does throughout the entire effing book. The story is great and engaging, but the distraction of the narrator's whiney voice made it almost unbearable. I hope this guy never works as a voice actor ever again. It's that bad.

God Awful Narration

the narrator is so boring. I wish I listened to more of it before I purchased the next book. o well.

So within a week of the attack everyone had collapsed into gangs and sex trafficking. Or you have spies working for the government to help round up people to start a new country. The main character is even trying to set up his 15 year old daughter on a date, because the dating pool is non existent now. The author is obsessed with sex trafficking, It’s a theme in his other books I’ve listened to. It was so poorly written, and was killing me to listen to it. The vocal actors range of voices is unbelievably bad. I’ve listened to many other world ending books and I definitely would not recommend this one. If I could get my money back I would.

Not believable at all
