You never know who you are working with. In the temporary dentist office that Eve is working in, there is a dentist, Gary, who is suspicious. Of what you ask? Several women have been found dead and all have ties to Gary. When his past is looked into, surprising information he did not disclose comes to the forefront and now Eve is on a mission to prove his guilt. But what she finds out is totally surprising. It just goes to show that sometimes intuition can't be relied on and the least suspecting of people could be the guilty. Fun, exciting and surprising, this is a great addition to the series.

Julie McKay narrates this one with emotional pull as it is close to home for Eve. Her workplace, keeping Talia safe and finding the guilty all bring voices of real concern and need to find the guilty. Loved her performance.

Unexpected mystery

This is book 18 for Eve, Atlas, and Willow. They are a K-9 search and rescue team. I loved the fact that this particular story involved the dentist office where Eve works. They had two new additions to the office and here is where the story unfolds. What seems like a great addition adds so many twists and turns. Julie McKay’s narration has you sucked in from the very beginning. If you love these books you won’t want to miss this audiobook!

I love this cozy mystery series and the narration is PERFECT

Can we talk about how cute all the books are in this series (well, I've read books 16-18)? Also, the titles are just so clever. This series is the perfect palate cleanser series if you find yourself in a reading slump. I wasn't familiar with this series nor the author, but I'm thankful I stumbled upon this series as an ALC listener with BlueNose.

This book focused on two new people in town - a dentist, Gary, and a hygienist, Margaret. As a quick FYI, all these books (well, 16-18 that I know of) are centered around Eve and one or both of her German Shepherd pups. Eve is the protagonist of every book who helps solves the community's crimes with the help from her pups. In this book, Gary is spotted walking through the park frequently looking for something, so people find his behavior a bit suspicious. When it comes out that his wife was murdered years ago, all eyes are on Gary for committing the crime. To add insult to injury, another community member reaches a similar fate, and everyone thinks Gary has something to do with it. This book takes you through Eve's thought process regarding these two crimes. I enjoyed the ride the author put us on in this book. I went through half the book believing one thing, only for the author to flip the script on us in the end. So much fun.

What was even more fun than reading was listening to the audiobook. The narrator, Julie McKay, is a stellar narrator. I've heard her narrate other books under a different name, so she is a favorite of mine. I love when she narrates because, no matter the genre, you will hear the emotions in her voice. Her narrations make you feel like you are watching a movie or TV - a truly immersive experience. This book was another 5 star listen for me. And what a cute series to help me get out of a slump (which I've been in over a month now).
