Have you ever wondered what happens after life? Do souls live forever? What does the future hold? What is our task in the here and now? These are only a few of the subjects discussed in Afterlife: A Jewish View. The main text, written by Jonathan Morgenstern and based on the teachings of Rabbi Sholom Kamenetsky, is a clear and inspirational description of the Jewish view on ideas such as life after death, the soul, and the future of the planet. In addition, Rabbi Kamenetsky has contributed fascinating extensive footnotes, a foreword, and selected the appendix contained herein. Questions about the Afterlife, Paradise, and Reincarnation have intrigued humanity since Creation. Based on 3,000 years of tradition and scholarship, here is the Jewish answer.

The Jewish people have a Day of Atonement that many of them regard rather casually if at all. This is not unlike how many of my Catholic folks regard Reconciliation. Seems we all sort of believe our faith tells us we will go to be with God in a heaven or paradise or something. At least we hope so. So will I see you there, too?!? This book does tell us what is the official word that the Jewish people believe on the Afterlife. It seems it is not much different than what I'm guessing at. The route is a bit different but we all hopefully make it to the same existence. And isn't that what we hope for?
See you there!?
