"Rarely have I read descriptions that have left me gasping, in both their hilarity and their painful truth. A wonderful read."Louise Penny recommending G.M. Malliet's novel WICKED AUTUMN

Is it ever okay to take the law into your own hands? That's the question at the heart of this original short story by award-winning author G.M. Malliet.

Maria Ignatius Jona writes an advice column - an "Agony Aunt" column - for the daily Santa Fe Orbital.

She inherited the column ten years before from her aunt Bettina, and soon discovered she'd also inherited her aunt's intuition and knack for helping people sort out their problems.

For friends as well as readers, Maria is always on tap for solicited advice. So when her good friend Jane invites her to meet for dinner to talk about something "important," Maria expects to be asked for the usual guidance on relationships and in-laws.

But the topic is far darker, for Jane's dilemma has to do with vigilante justice ... leading to murder.

Is this story almost interesting, possibly average or probably bad? I can not be totally certain, so giving it the benefit of doubt from the little I registered, I give it 2 stars. The narration was mecanic, flat and virtually dead and with a hollow background sound, so I lost the consentration again and again. And again, even when I spooled back . Why will any author have their stories spoiled by virtual voice and isnt it a huge hint not to buy when authors appreciate their own work so little? I got this story for free. Still, it will be returned and this author is no longer on my book list.
To all actual actors out there, thank you for bringing life and caracter to the stories you perform in litterature, film and theatre. To all authors out there who consider virtual voice, show some solidarity to us readers/listeners. And to yourself and the actors.
