"A must-read for any Bailey student, anyone interested in the New Age movement, and for those who wonder, amidst our confused and divided world, where will it all end?" (Steven Chernikeeff, author of Esoteric Apprentice)

From tragic beginnings as an aristocratic orphan to becoming the mother of the New Age spiritual movement, Alice A. Bailey is one of the modern era’s most misunderstood occult figures.

Bailey’s journey is a story of faith, from orthodox Christian beginnings, through a protracted spiritual crisis, to a newfound belief in theosophy. A mystic and a seeker, a founder of global spiritual organizations, and a surmounter of adversity, Bailey’s past is rife with injustices, myths, and misconceptions - including that she was an anti-Semite and a racist with a dark agenda.

With scandals and controversies laid bare, Bailey’s extraordinary life is revealed as a powerful, remarkable legacy.

Terrible pronunciation of many words and places which was distracting. An amazing woman. I was hoping to learn a bit more about her ideas and a bit less about the birth and death dates of all those she encountered in her life. The writing was repetitive.

A so so biography of a great woman

The readers voice is not made for this. She speaks like she is eating or has a mouth full of marbles. And her pronunciation of common words and names is just pathetic. I could not understand most of what she read. I thought it was me but right after I played 3 other books and none of them gave me any troubles at all. Not my ears, but HER voice or the quality of the recording. I want to say it sounds "SMEARY," but that is hard to explain, I am asking for a credit. I'll buy this book and actually read it instead. She could not pronounce Todd Rundgren. A very simple name, said exactly like it is spelled and I still couldn't understand it after 3 times of rewinding and listening again and again. Most bigger words were like that... Audible needs to get the book reread if they want folks to buy it. Very frustrating book. I really want to know what it says. I have waited 45 years for a book like this and I cannot understand the reader! Alice A. Bailey deserves so much more.

The voice is hard to understand, terribly hard!
