CHAPMAN

So, our mission on an alien planet fell apart before it even got started. Great. Now I’m the only surviving military crew member, leading a gaggle of civilian women in unfamiliar terrain.

But it turns out one soldier isn’t enough to protect them from the monsters of this planet. Soon enough we’re all scooped up by a bunch of alien barbarian warriors with tails. When I meet their huge, red-eyed leader, he wraps his claws around my throat and looks like he wants to crush me. I can only think of one name for him: The Enemy.

He’s crazy, moody, and his ego is bigger than his whole planet. Everything about him rubs me the wrong way. My defiance is just as big a thorn in his side, if his glares and snarls are anything to go by.

We can’t stand each other, but for some reason we keep falling towards each other, over and over again. If I hate him so much, why can’t I seem to stay away?

And when he claims that I’m his mate, why don’t I want to run?

FALLO

There are few women of the Sea Sands now, so the unfamiliar females who appear in the desert are a great boon to my tribe. But their leader, the one with the flame-coloured hair, challenges me at every step, her insolence a hot irritation. I do not understand her nonsense words, but I recognize the hateful defiance in her strange, lovely eyes.

It makes me want to punish her. It makes me want to make her mine.

She is fire in my veins. A thirst I cannot quench. A beautiful torture. Madness. She makes me feel like I am losing control. She makes me question everything, even my own sanity.

Will she finally submit, acknowledge me as her mate, and end my suffering? Or will she throw me headfirst into madness?

Ursa Fax's "Alien Enemy" weaves a captivating tale, honing in on Chapman's journey, delivering an engaging narrative filled with humor and remarkable banter with Fallo. The independent spirit shown by Chapman, refusing to yield right away, was a refreshing twist, shaping the dynamics on her own terms. While the pace was commendable, the limited spice might disappoint some readers, as the final connection felt somewhat rushed. Nevertheless, Fax's storytelling prowess shines through, leaving readers enthralled till the last moment. "Alien Enemy" stands as a fantastic addition to the series, prompting an eager anticipation for the next chapter in this compelling saga.

another good listen

I wish that all of the other audio books were out because they are good. Each character has his and hers own story and ot doesn't necessarily sound like the same old same old thing. I mean we all know what's their going to end up together but I like the take on this series better

Patrick Zeller was the best choice for Gah Fallo's narration. Just how I imagined him

CHAPMAN was a part of a space mission to an alien planet that fell apart the minute they landed. Now she’s the only surviving person of the military crew. She is now stuck with the surviving kidnapped civilian females that had been forced to participate unwillingly in the bizarre mission.

Now they’re all stuck in a treacherous and unforgiving terrain with creatures that are invincible and wanting to eat the humans. Chapman isn’t able to protect them with her weapon that simply isn’t up to the levels needed on this planet. When survival seems to be coming to an end, they are scooped up by a bunch of alien barbarian warriors. We can’t understand The warrior’s language and have no way to communicate. I don’t know how or if we will survive. I doubt the Earth will be sending anyone to retrieve us since this was a hush-hush project and involved kidnapped civilians forced to participate in the mission. How are we gonna make it?
