Suddenly, the homes of ten thousand humans are levitated into low earth orbit. It’s the start of a reality show survivalist “Contest” with extreme consequences. At the end of each successive round, the sealed domes of losers are consumed by a ravenous “White Marble”. An aging Luke Giavanti knows he must fight to stay in the increasingly violent game, not only for himself but to protect his peculiar great-granddaughter: the hope of a new awakening.

On Earth, governments and societies have collapsed. Ravaged by runaway global warming, they are helpless to defend themselves against an alien entity seemingly aloof to their plight. Some organizations struggle to find a way to strike back. But it is increasingly obvious to Luke that humanity’s potential is part of the cryptic purpose behind The Contest.

Meanwhile, an even greater threat to the solar system lurks at the Galactic Center. It’s up to the desperate crew of a crippled spaceship to block them from Jupiter’s Star Gate, to somehow find a way to win against overwhelming odds. It’s a contest not just for Earth, but for humanity’s soul.
