After years of confrontations, Fred's conflict with his sire at last draws toward a conclusion.

Along the way he'll watch centaurs battle for honor, try to stand against a magical aberration, gather ingredients for a mysterious potion, and explore a city of underwater vampires. As Fred learns more about the parahuman world, the origins of vampires, and where he fits into it all, an eventual encounter with Quinn becomes inevitable.

One that Fred is determined to see have a final, definite outcome.

The final book of the Fred the Vampire Accountant series.

This is the first time I’ve found 3 separate series, that rank easily 1,2 and 3. (Super-Powereds,The Villians and Fred the Vampire Accountant) While the order changes based on which has the most current new selection. All three by the same author is something that goes to show how incredibly talented Drew Hayes really is. I actually bypassed this series for a couple years because it so closely resembled another of my favorites which is The Tome of Bill so I figured one unusual vampire series was enough for me. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I finally ran out of options and gave this series a chance and by that time there were 3 or 4 in the series. I quickly blasted through them and anxiously awaited the next. Knowing this was the end, it was bittersweet because the light hearted, easy going way this series plays out made it so perfect for a work companion. I couldn’t have come up with a better way to end it, it really was the prefect ending leaving you right where you started so poetically that it felt effortless. As if he had the whole thing planned out from the beginning. That’s the magic of Drew Hayes. He will take you on the adventure of a lifetime and leave you better off than when you started and with a host of new characters as friends. Thank you Mr Hayes for another fantastic series. It made life enjoyable even in the hardest of times. Truly. Well done!! If you’re thinking you don’t need another vampire story in your life I strongly urge you to reconsider. You won’t regret it.

Sad as I am to see this series finally end, it was also time. And I can certainly say that this is wrapped up well and wonderfully. Grateful that the author clearly thinks through his story lines from the early books and lets them come to a close gracefully.

A lovely ending
