USA TODAY Bestselling Author Carolyn Ridder Aspenson welcome's you to Holiday Hills, a magical town where the tea is sweet, and magic is always on the menu.

Holiday Hills was set for a sweet celebration—until murder stole the spotlight.

The Enchanted Treats culinary competition has the whole town buzzing with excitement, but the party before the semi-finals takes a dark turn when Victor Havensworth, a fiery Atlanta chef and judge, is found dead.

Now, with Bessie stepping in as a judge, my concern over another murder in town skyrockets.

As I dig into the case, cryptic threats and sabotage make it clear someone wants me and my snark-talking cat familair off the trail.

But with my best friend Stella facing her own magical crisis, and a killer on the loose, I’ll have to solve this mystery fast—before the next victim is me.

I disliked the virtual voice. At one point it said “pause” after every sentence. The voice didn’t sound right. Basically it was monotone. I think that a human just plain reading the story would be better.

The monotonous tone of the virtual voice detracted from the story.

The book itself was an okay story with the cooking competition plot and new witches learning their way. My issue was mainly the “ generated narration” vs a real person and it was not my favorite to listen to.
Not the author the narration.
