“Who would black women get to be if we did not have to create from a place of resistance?”

Hip Hop Womanist writer and theologian EbonyJanice’s book of essays center a fourth wave of Womanism, dreaming, the pursuit of softness, ancestral reverence, and radical wholeness as tools of liberation.

All The Black Girls Are Activists is a love letter to Black girls and Black women, asking and attempting to offer some answers to “Who would black women get to be if we did not have to create from a place of resistance?” by naming Black women’s wellness, wholeness, and survival as the radical revolution we have been waiting for.

I loved the details yet candid presentation of the information. I was truly inspired to show up as myself, whether in a head wrap or my favorite wig. So be it. I recommend this book to all of the Sisters. This was a great read. Thanks for sharing, Ebonyjanice❤️

This book was like a balm to my soul. It made me feel seen and understood while also inspiring me to think in new ways. EbonyJanice shared ideas that are so critical for our time and has a real gift for communicating in a way that feels real, comforting, and relational. I loved it so much that I bought an extra copy and gifted it to a friend knowing how rare, needed, and important the messages in this book are. Definitely at the top of my list of favorite books I read in 2023.

EbonyJanice!! Thank you!! This book is a true culmination of everything and everyone that I needed to hear from all at once. The things that I have been feeling that I didn’t quite have language for, you made clear and concise. Every chapter represents a post it note for my mirror. I will remind myself that I deserve ease, softness, safety and love. I am strong, but I am human. I am woman. Thank you for the reminder! Thank you for the affirmation and the confirmations.

Also, I grew up in LA. I have had the pleasure and privilege of sitting at the feet of Thea Monyee’s poetry and wisdom since I was a teenager. She even honored me with her gift by being the headliner and special guest of one of my monthly poetry nights in LA.

This book felt like home, like finding my tribe.
