Eric J. Miller
In a time when divisiveness and disinformation dominate our conversations, Eric J. Miller offers a refreshing path forward—one rooted in time-honored, spiritually-centered practices. In Allied We Can Find Common Ground, Miller draws on principles of self-awareness, compassion, and mindfulness, showing how higher-level leaders can use these ancient values to forge connections in today's fractured world.
Miller's approach is simple yet profound: By incorporating validation, affirmation, and genuine accountability into daily life, leaders can transform every conversation into an opportunity for understanding. With stories and examples of leaders who have put these practices into action, this book illustrates how vulnerability and forgiveness can heal rifts, even in the most conflicted environments.
Allied We Can Find Common Ground is both a call to action and a guide for leaders ready to build bridges. Through small but consistent efforts, you can create a culture where truth, empathy, and human connection are prioritized—one conversation at a time.
We can commit to a journey of truth and compassion. It’s time to lead with integrity in a world that desperately needs it.

The progression made perfect sense too. Starts with "me" and reasons behind the changes suggested. In the context of the book "leveling up" isn't about personal "wins" but rather everyone being a better team.
The book flowed smoothly addressing a topic that could easily have been dry, but always came across accessible and interesting thanks to well chosen quotes, sources and examples.
The only thing I would suggest is incorporating a mechanism and encouraging feedback with those persons one leads when and while these techniques are being employed. People may be more onboard if they have an understanding of the goal and feel like participants in the success of what is likely going to be new communication styles for many.
That being said, a fantastic book incorporating mindfulness in a way I hadn't seen and I've been a serious user for decades now having had many classes.
Buy it. Read it. You will NOT regret it!
