Riley, a New York workaholic, has health issues that leave her no choice but to move to a small town to lead a calmer life. She hates the huge mansion she bought on a whim and stands out like a sore thumb in the cheery community of Mystic.

Quinn, a Mystic-based contractor, has once again missed out on purchasing the house her family built. After saving up for years, she’s still not able to buy back her childhood home that her grandfather lost years ago. When a beautiful and swanky city girl who has no respect for the house’s history buys it without even viewing it, Quinn decides she has no place in Mystic, yet she can’t seem to stay away....

I enjoyed this book, it is well written, great MC, but the narration was not as good as I would like it to be. It was ok not more than that.

Great story

Lise Gold continues to amaze me. She creates such amazing characters and her story lines are wonderful. This book is no different! Riley and Quinn’s chemistry is palpable. They are lovely together not to mention how hot their sexual chemistry is! The book is awesome and Tessa Stavers does a great job narrating.

The story was fine, but it was ruined for me because the narrator was so overly dramatic and sappy.

Sappy narration

I’m a huge Lise Gold fan, but I had a hard time getting through this one. I suspect it was the narrator. I just couldn’t get past her. I think it would have been a better read than listen. Unfortunately, sometimes the narration kills it.

I didn’t love it
