Unfortunately, the model-perfect King Owen is broken by grief and guilt, the Order has little faith in her, and malevolenci attacks are worse than ever.

Eight alt-world Esmes preceded her. Eight lost their lives. Can Esme use her unique gifts to succeed as an alterni? If she fails, the consequences might be more devastating than Owen is willing to say.

Outstanding!

Thought this was a terrific book! The worldbuilding was fascinating, the characters were very well done and believable, the action sequences felt intense, and the way the author peeled back the layers of intrigue kept me bingeing it. The narrator was also spot-on. Honored to have gotten this as a review copy in exchange for an honest review. I'm eagerly looking forward to the rest of the series!

Another Winner

Honestly, I listen to everything by this narrator. Both because I love her voice AND because she reliably chooses to work on the type of book I enjoy. She did another great job finding this one. With unique magic, a current time, alternate reality, dash of romance, and Sommer's acting this book really came to life.
Can't wait to hear the next one!

Great audio book!

I loved this audio book! The different worlds, the characters, story line and plot twists! Just when I thought I had a grip on what was going to happen, the ‘rug’ was swept out from underneath me. Can’t wait to see what happens next. The narrator also did a great job!

This book was sooo good. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I cant wait till the next one to come out....I was hesitant at first to listen but dang I am glad I took the risk because it was so worth it!!!
