Following Blood and Iron and The Center Cannot Hold, The Victorious Opposition triumphantly concludes Harry Turtledove's American Empire trilogy - a masterful saga of alternate history. good conculsion to American empire trilogy, Turtledove does a good job weaving the story and tying loose ends and creating new perspectives for the next set of books. However Turtledove does love to use a few phrases constantly to describe things like coffee or characters expressions. if that doesn't bother you then this is a breeze, its alot of characters to keep track of but the narrator does a great job of keeping the voices consistent, even if he does t space out the character perspective shifts enough. Overall, this is a fantastic end and set up for the next trilogy.
