Pretty Paul Parsons is a self-proclaimed schizophrenic, dyslexic, transsexual with Alzheimer's, who is currently working on a process by which he hopes to cure hemophilia with acupuncture. Pretty Paul likes to spend his spare time at his Heavy Petting Zoo, where he teaches blind children the art of chainsaw sculpture and sending get-well cards to everyone in the obituary column. On this album, Paul answers the age-old question, "how many five-pound cement blocks does it take to fully submerge the 40 pound chunk of decomposing nun that he has hidden under his bed?"

Editorial reviews

With all the coherence of a stark-raving lunatic, Pretty Paul Parson rants and roils his way through this "alternative to entertainment". These outrageous Appalachian aphorisms prove that no proclivity is too profane, preposterous, or depraved for the self-described "schizophrenic, dyslexic transsexual with Alzheimer’s". In a rare moment of clarity, Parsons offers up some clues as to the nature of his mindset, telling audiences, "I’m glad to say I never did abuse drugs. They did abuse the s*** out of me though". Combining Parson’s stand up sets with more, well, intimate studio recordings, An American Tragedy is sure to delight and disturb.

I don't mind a bit of crass humour but this...well I was surprised Audible would allow material like this on their site. There are jokes about pedophilia and some other exceptionally tasteless, sorry can't call it humor, rubbish.

Avoid this like the plague unless you are some kind of sicko!
