But when her parents decide to send her and her younger sister, Eliza, to the workhouse, they are forced into a new life of hardship and struggle. Pearl's hopes are raised when the workhouse offers the sisters a new life in Canada, and they board an orphan ship transporting unwanted children across the seas. I really liked the story. It was predictable and not too heavy. The narrator does a weird thing with her
S es. Especially when the word ends in an S. It’s positively reptilian to the point of distraction. Ssssssssssss

Nice story.

I loved this book as much as I loved the first in the series. The narrators kid like voice grows on you. The story lines are well developed and somewhat predictable, but a page turner none the less.

There is good character development and pleasant listening. The narrators voice is quite childish; I've heard her before and it is usually so.

plot lines repeated from other series

Narrator sound like she is whispering through entire story. Very irritating. Very hard to listen.
