The narrator for Nalini Singh’s story was awful. Her inflection and tone wee so repulsive that I almost quit the story.
The narrators for Ilona Andrews and Sharon Shinn were wonderful.
All of the stories were well thought out, well paced, and complex even though they are novellas or (in the case of Sharon Shinn’s) short stories. I really enjoyed them even though I generally avoid stories with angels or demons. All of the authors were able incorporate backstory without slowing the current plot. Ilona Andrew’s romance felt a bit quick but it was such a great action story with such a natural heroine that the hurried romantic progression is easily forgiven. (It was a reread for me and I enjoyed every bit of it)
They are all a bit hurried because of the length of the stories. The Shinn story felt the most natural.

Good stories, mostly good narration

I loved the Nalini Singh and Ilona Andrews stories. Nalini Singh's story, "Angel's Wolf", is a fun addition to her Guild Hunter series, and Justine Eyre is her usual narrator, which makes it fit right in with the readings of the rest of the Guild Hunter series. Ilona Andrews' story "Alphas: Origins" narrated by Renee Raudman (also her usual narrator) was wonderful: while the Alphas world was new to me, the story drew me in right away. The Sharon Shinn story dragged on for me a bit, but that could just be because I'm less familiar with her Samaria series. I don't know if Coleen Marlo is the usual reader for the Samara books, but she's the usual reader for the Wishcraft cozy series, and she's very consistent. All three narrators are good, really, with good quality recordings.

A fun read to tide you over to the next full book

The first story was pretty good, the 2nd one could have been left out all together. The 3rd was ok, I just felt like they left me hanging on what happens to all.

Needed A Little More

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Good book, but Justine Eyre's voice makes it impossible to listen to - I bought a hard copy.

Can't stand the narrator's voice

I don't want to name names because I don't remember for sure which narrator it was, but the narrator of the Nalini Singh story has the most unpleasant voice it has been my misfortune to hear. I can not imagine how she has established a career as a narrator with such a grating and unpleasant voice. The stories were good, and the other narrators were fine. Just skip the Nalini Singh story.

I couldn't stand one of the voices
