A willful orphan named Anne, a red-haired "exception", arrives at the home of an elderly sister and brother, and wonderful life adventures begin as Anne matures from a skinny, freckled girl into an intriguing young woman. I remember reading the Lucy Montgomery books as a child and always thought they were books that boys would not enjoy. My son has proved me wrong and enjoyed to this book every bit as much as I did. The performances are great and Anne's moments of melodrama are as funny now as they were then.

A hit with boys too

I love Anne of Green Gables, and this production does decently capturing the spirit of it! My only criticism is that the voice actor for Diane is a little lacking in life. Most of the time I could ignore it, but it was really annoying in emotional scenes how placid she sounded. The other voice actors were excellent, however, and I was especially happy with Marilla.

Great listen!
