Many of the novella's core themes, such as the struggle between individualism and collectivism, are echoed in Rand's later books, such as The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged. However, the style of "Anthem" is unique among Rand's work, more narrative-centered and economical, lacking the intense didactic expressions of philosophical abstraction that occur in later works.Public Domain (P)2009 Alpha DVD LLC Literary Fiction Political Philosophy Political Science Politics & Government Classics Genre Fiction Science Fiction Anthologies & Short Stories Psychological Alternate History Anthologies

As a fairly vocal objectivist I occasionally get asked how to learn more, I always recommend Anthem as a great starting point. This book is short and powerful with a compelling plot line for most readers to grab onto. Enjoy!

Shallow characters show the tragic logical end of collectivism. A nice story and highly rated for an entertaining story on an ever-more pertinent theme, though Rand's dispensing with faith leaves logical holes in plot and character.

This book blew me away! It is the story of a rise out of a dystopian society that is easy to listen to, easy to relate to and easy to get addicted to. In a world where personal pronouns (I, mine, etc) are replaced with WE, 1 man finds something that leads him to seek a way out. This is a great, short listen and you will simply love it!

Short, Sweet, To The Point and VERY GOOD!

The book was extremely boring with improper grammar, for instance, instead of saying "I have broken many laws." It says "We have broken many laws." This book is not in my taste. Sorry Ayn Rand.
