Some days, it seems that we all wish that we could be someone else. On this particular day, a young boy gets his wish. As his dreams come true, though, he finally learns that "the best thing you can be is the best you you can be."

Perfect for car trips, bedtime stories, or just for quiet time, this captivating audio anthology emerges from professional author and father of two, A.D. Hasselbring. A Thicket of Tales ignites the imagination, builds self-worth, and strengthens confidence through artfully crafted fairy tales with a contemporary voice. Hasselbring’s innovative, family-friendly storytelling engages children, keeping their minds active through positive characters, new vocabulary, and stunning imagery. As each tale unfolds, it paints vibrant portraits of heroes and heroines and encourages children to explore their boundless imaginations in stories that teach life lessons “with a billow of wind wrapped in a gust of imagination.”

What made the experience of listening to Anything but Me the most enjoyable?

Somehow, the way that the same question and answer keep coming back around really encouraged the kids to listen more intently. The "refrain" had them absolutely hooked.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the animals. Boys and girls can get into it, and we spent a lot of time afterward talking about the different animals and learning about them. It's so nice when a great story actually lends itself to some great learning opportunities. DEFINITELY going into my homeschool repertoire.

What about A.D. Hasselbring’s performance did you like?

His voice is so warm and inviting, and it is really perfect for this story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Make me anything but me.

Any additional comments?

It's SO nice to fine a heartwarming story that teaches kids to appreciate the beautiful, unique person they are, but that still has adventure and sweeping visual scenes. I love to teach my kids those things, but as my son gets older (he's 6), it's harder to find ones that aren't "baby stories." This totally fits the bill.

This is SO GREAT for homeschooling!
