Lillian Haswell, brilliant daughter of the local apothecary, yearns for more adventure and experience than life in her father's shop and their small village provides. Opportunity comes when a distant aunt offers to educate her as a lady in London. Exposed to fashionable society and romance - as well as clues about her mother - Lilly is torn when she is summoned back to her ailing father's bedside. Women are forbidden to work as apothecaries, so to save the family legacy, Lilly will have to make it appear as if her father is still making all the diagnoses and decisions. But the suspicious eyes of a scholarly physician and a competing apothecary are upon her. As they vie for village prominence, three men also vie for Lilly's heart.

I loved the story line, just when I thought I had it all figured out. Shock and excitement . ❤️❤️

The love of family

We sometimes think of fat off places. Thinking that far place would made us happy only to fine this was not the place God had intended for us to be.Time and turning to God Lily place was with Francis. A Godly man that loved God and her.

I enjoy a story that has love and contentment and that’s what this story is. a good story worth listening to

What a delightful story

What a refreshing Novel. So full of twist and turns. The narrator was quite good.
I had a challenge deciding who she would choose. She had many suitors.

The challenges women faced in those days being discriminated against was so real. Their fight for acceptance was so great! I am glad they paved the way for women to be accepted as human beings with an intelligence.
Great story and one I will probably listen to again.

Wonderful book!

The Apothecary’s Daughter is one of the best I have heard. Just wondering why the reader would announce the next chapter with out giving a pause? It was one second she’s reading the story and in the same breath announce the next chapter! lol Although that didn’t ruin it for me, it was just a wee bit annoying! No big deal though!
