Four men on a job in the remote mountains. A desecrated grave in a forgotten holler. They thought it was a simple task, but they’ve disturbed something ancient, something that owns the woods. Now, they’re marked.

The forest is silent, the locals watch with unblinking eyes, and a primal fear begins to claw at them. They’ve awakened a curse, a hungry darkness that has claimed victims for generations. A terrifying presence stalks their every move, turning the wilderness into an inescapable nightmare of supernatural suspense.

Trapped and hunted, they must fight for survival against a force they cannot understand. The holler has its own rules, and it demands a sacrifice. Can they escape the mountain, or will they be the next to be buried in the suffocating darkness?

If you love chilling supernatural thrillers, occult suspense, and terrifying folk horror, you won’t be able to put down this gripping tale of survival horror.

A good atmospheric horror story. I usually like a bit more action with my horror, but I have near & dear place in my heart for rural places with 100 years or more of folklore seeped into their soil. I can’t say it was my very favorite Ethan Blackwood book, but the writing is good and the eerie white fog is thick.

Bad guys go to a bad place to do a bad thing… but, there’s already a bad THING there.
