In einem Blumentopf im Fenster lebte einmal ein Kaktus – dick, grün und beschaulich. Er setzte Pickel um Pickel, Beule um Beule an, und dieser Kaktus hieß Archibald Pickelbeul. Neben ihm stand eine Rose und reckte duftende Blüten ins Sonnenlicht. Aber Herr Pickelbeul nahm kein Interesse an ihr, weder ein sachliches noch ein persönliches. Denn sachliche Interessen hatte er überhaupt nicht, und sein persönliches Interesse erschöpfte sich restlos darin, seinen fetten grünen Bauch in der Sonne zu wärmen und Pickel um Pickel und Beule um Beule anzusetzen, aber langsam und ohne Übereilung.
