Yes, that was usually the precursor to some of the most ridiculous events our family had ever experienced. There is never a dull moment with our family. And, with all the stressful moments, injuries, and illnesses we have endured throughout the years, we quickly figured out that laughter truly is the best medicine of all!

Now, for those of you who have kids already and remember doing a few crazy things as a kid yourself, you may be able to relate to some of these stories. For those of you who plan on starting a family of your own, consider this book to be a warning of things to come. So, what does a "normal" family life consist of anyway? Well, in our family, everyday life not only included working, feeding the dog, doing the laundry, washing the dishes, running errands and making dinner, it also included the occasional emergency room visit for the most ridiculous injuries, some really creative parenting, smart aleck children who weren't always cooperative, the most insane pets doing the most ridiculous things, a very "thrifty" dad and a C.D.O. mom (yes, that's me; and for those of you who don't know what C.D.O. is...I explain it all in Chapter Five). And, with everything that's happened to us over the years (at the end of each day) my husband and I would just look at each other and ask ourselves..."Are we normal?"
