The End is nigh …

The war with the Tahni has dragged on for over two years, taking its toll on the lives of all involved.

On the Aphrodite colony, Marine turned cybernetic commando Ryan Hendrix is readying his civilian militia to make one final strike against the enemy, in what they know could be a suicide mission.

Back in Commonwealth space, Travis Miller and his task force have finally been given clearance to take back the occupied colony system. But the Tahni have had a year to prepare their defenses, and the price in blood will be dear.

And somewhere, across the stars, the Tahni general Tan Kin is guiding his own strike force on a long and circuitous route that will take them behind human lines for an attack no one expects … and no one is prepared for.

It will mean the end of the war … and may mean the end of everything.

Was not sure how I would like this series of book. When I listened to the first book in the series. I have enjoyed all of them I hope there will be more.

I would recommend this series of books

I enjoyed it. It kinda tied everything up and set up for either a spin off or another book.

Rounded out and set up

James. Patrick. Cronin. There should be a law against employing three names when your most memorable trait is to read with an obnoxious hanging inflection that turns average conversations into an inexplicable combination of condescension, confusion, and intoxication. Imagine military jargon, if the military kept everyone on a THC drip. Good Lord. If I wasn't in the purgatory between Audible credits I would have spat ye from my presence. As it is, I feel like my ears need a shower. How, in a world where Ray Porter exists, does this guy have a job that doesn't require puppets on both hands?

A decent story almost ruined by narration

This is the second time I’ve listened to this series and it’s as good now as it was then. Easy to follow story line with a good build up .
It was really enjoyable and I would certainly recommend them. JJ

This was one of those weird situations where the first book kept popping up on my feed of recommendations and I read the book description and thought I wouldn’t enjoy it. I don’t even know why I thought that but I did. As it turns out, this is one of the most enjoyable, action-packed, military space whatever (I just can’t get into calling something a military space “opera” sorry.) it felt comfortable yet was very exciting and intriguing throughout. Characters were so well developed I felt like I knew a couple like knew-knew them. That’s very rare. The action was packed and just legit. It’s also one of the few series I’ve read that I felt good about the ending. Could I have read another book if there was one? Absolutely, and I would be listening to it now rather than writing a review, but the story was just so complete that it felt right that it ended. Man, I have never written that in a review before. Just thinking on those words, the last few sentences, that is really saying something. I wasn’t tired of the story, I totally loved it, but it felt right ending where and how it did. I think I was so invested in the story and the characters that I actually wanted them to stop fighting and live a life of peace that they deserved. (I’m almost weirding out on my comments here.). I suppose I’m a more emotional being than I thought!

Well done Rick Partlow and congratulations, you wrote a series that had me hook, line, and sinker and created a story with the most natural, totally synchronized with my head that I’ve probably ever read.

Loved every single book
