Habb Monnerd moves fast, head down, pretending he doesn’t notice the security drones tailing him.

He and his friends—Exa and Beckat—stole something they were never meant to touch. On Veltren, a proud world of the vast Republic, that kind of theft doesn’t end with a slap on the wrist.

His friends manage to escape, hijacking a civilian transport in a desperate attempt to draw the drones away. But the chase ends abruptly when armored officers surround them… only to let them go without explanation. No charges. No questions. Just confusion and a warning chill in the air.

Moments later, the real reason becomes clear.

The sky splits open. Alien warships descend.
The Araknor have arrived—and Veltren is under attack.

Now the trio must cross a collapsing city to reach a government bunker rumored to be the only safe zone left. Streets burn, drones fall from the sky, and the ground trembles as the invaders advance.

Habb thought getting arrested was the worst-case scenario.
He was wrong.
