A deadly rogue warrior and enemy of the alliance has been placed in her care.

Dr. Charlotte Lockley is taken aboard the military vessel Tarus, carrying high-risk inmates and ordered to treat those badly injured, including Prisoner Zero—a dangerous vrisha prisoner captured on a human trade world.

As a doctor educated in alien medicine, Charlotte is one of the few that might keep the vicious alien alive long enough for him to be contained inside the max-security prison on the planet Fargis.

Despite his supposed crimes, Charlotte slowly begins to heal the broken warrior. Axrel as she comes to know him is like a viper—sleek, beautiful, and deadly. Though she's warned of his killer instincts, he never shows her violence.

Axrel, however, has hatred in his heart. And a need for vengeance against those who have wronged him. But the delicate, strong-willed doctor, soothes his fury. Her touch brings him calm, fills him with a different sort of need that burns as strong as his long-sought revenge.

When the unthinkable happens, their fragile bond is tested. Can Charlotte change his black heart or will revenge consume him?

Contains mature themes.

I did enjoy this book. when comparing the two, the female in the first book presumed first, while in the second, the demon alien presume first. I'll have to agree with another reviewer. The characters are well formed and there's clear distinctions between all of them. I have a admit, the constant mentioning of how awful humans are seems intentional; there is so such truth to the humane dynamics of the engagement of different species when compared to what we call reality. There are specific ethnic groups with patterns of killing, stealing, and destroying, bless there hearts they can't help it. Personality, I enjoy fantasy because reality is super painful at times and this read really did it for me. Thx.

Another great book hit out of the park! The character interactions were unique and the characters themselves fully formed.

So good!

Okay please know that I always start a series out of order, I gravitate towards the book that catches my interest most then go back and read the rest. It works for me. Penelope Ann Rose voices all of the characters and let me tell you I thought Axrel was voiced by a man, the voice is smooth sexy and manly, the female lead is perfect I love books by Olivia Riley, Usually I'm a smut lover and not ashamed of it, don't get me wrong there is smut in this book, just not hit you in the face smut. I find all of her books are a slow burn and I throughly love them. Is this worth the credit yes so much so that I used another credit on book 1 and i'm listening to it right now.

Vrisha yes please

Loved it

Both romantic and action filled. No ridiculous filler…well other than the waxing poetic at the end, but that was far more brief than other books. All together a good sci-fi romance and good listen.

Quite the Adventure
