Mackenzie Adelson finally approached the Conference Center. But there was not only a seminar awaiting her. Driving separately because he had plans to visit a relative after the seminar was over was her boss, her boyfriend. Rooms were overbooked, so they agreed to share a suite. Lorraine Davenport had never been more upset with herself in her life. When she and Edward had been married he knew that she was sometimes quite emotional, but he also knew that she was bright, usually quite witty, but always an honest and candid person.

And she wondered if their friend could be approached to perhaps generously apply some of his expertise to her own backside to try to get her attitude straightened out, and to make her feel that she had finally been disciplined for her past.
