Jennifer and Kristin Watson, both raised in the IFB/IFB cult environment, discuss the extreme control and purity culture placed on girls—no voice or autonomy but full responsibility for men’s “stumbling”—and how that created impossible standards and identity loss. Kristin explains being taught she was sinful from birth and believing she was “evil” after leaving, then slowly rebuilding her identity by reclaiming femininity, dancing, and returning to figure skating, which she once surrendered at youth camp under pressure. She describes rigid rules and surveillance at Crown College, public shaming, political indoctrination, and how she and Nick fell in love, were nearly disciplined, and ultimately ran away at 19. Excommunication, family severance, vindictive retaliation, and years of survival followed. They reflect on evolving beliefs (agnostic/humanist) and Kristin’s nonprofit work supporting single parents as a way to break the cycle and lead with love. #cult #religiouscult #IFB
