Not your typical card-table comment in a retirement community. But then these are not your typical senior citizens. They’ve found like-minded people, gathered for friendship, and to talk about struggles with identity, gender, unconventional relationships, grief, and life in a variously hostile world, and to support each other through the changes aging brings. The relationships are raw and open, and there’s no further point in hiding much of anything about themselves. And so, in some cases for the first time in their lives, they’re telling their stories.

While this novel can be read as a stand-alone, it is a sequel to the author’s previous novel Ravynscroft.
