Rev. Father Francesco Soldati, a Catholic missionary, born in Italy in 1921, came to Kenya in 1951 and arrived in Chuka Meru in the same year. He worked at Egoji mission up to August 1953 when he came to Tuuru mission, Igembe region in September 1953. Thereafter, he worked and lived in Igembe region for his entire life; converting people to Christianity; bringing development projects for the people of Igembe for over fifty years. He lived a holy life; entirely for Christ and served people of God faithfully till when he was crippled by malarial disease that forced him to be flown back to Italy; where he died on 4th, January 2004. This book is written in his Memory and Reminder of his good works for the people of Igembe region in Meru, Kenya. The book is a sign to the people of Igembe, Meru, Kenya that the spirit of Father Soldati still lives among his Christians whom he kindly served as Jesus Christ did while on earth. The book calls for his remains that were interred in Italy be repatriated back to Meru, Kenya and be buried at OUR LADY OF CONSOLATA AND BLESSED JOSEPH ALLAMANO SHRINE MUKULULU. The book is a cry in the wilderness for a true and astute missionary who helped shape the destiny of many old men and women towards their salvation otherwise in their sunset years; through remembrance in their daily prayers to God.
