The Sudkan Trilogy - a story of destiny, love and duty set in the Middle Ages of Utopia's history.
Book Two – Blood Brothers
For her services to him, Iohn has made Margarita his secret blood friend, and in public, the official Sudkan Ambassador. To further preserve her reputation, Iohn marries Margarita and at first all is well. But the arrival of Consort Cely changes everything and after a terrible row, Iohn sends Margarita into exile at Castle Roc until she is willing to give a public apology. Determined not to show her distress and to survive the privation of Castle Roc, Margarita gathers her 100 strong body guard and with head held high and Sudkan banner defiantly raised, goes into exile. During the days she is outwardly confident and positive but at night Margarita is plagued by debilitating nightmares until realisation dawns on her that Lord Iohn faces great danger from within his household. To complicate matters, a Sudkan ship finally arrives, but it is not the ship Margarita was hoping for and she again faces the conflicting loyalties between her duty to Sudka and her blood tie to Iohn. Desperate to get her ship safely away, and despite the public estrangement between them, the sacred bond of blood brothers once again calls upon Margarita to help Lord Iohn, even at the cost of her own life.
