A Whimsical Tale with Unforgettable Characters

This story is an absolute gem! The characters are the heart of it all—quirky, endearing, and so well-developed that you can’t help but root for them. It had just the right balance of humor, mystery, and heart, it’s a joy to listen to from start to finish. Highly recommend!

A beautiful story

I was not sure how Mr Kvalviks first book would be, but right when I started the book, I was hooked. Listen to the whole thing in a few days. I can’t wait for book number 2!

Narrator on point

WARNING: Do not read near bedtime. Once it gets going, it's hard to find a good stopping point. You won't regret it.

Also, the narrator kills it.

Incredible Story and Narration

I rarely leave reviews for books or narrators on this platform, but this one has easily earned a spot among my all-time favorite fantasy novels. Standing proudly alongside works like Michael G. Manning's Art of the Adept series and Patrick Rothfuss’ Kingkiller Chronicles.

The story is masterfully crafted, with perfect pacing that keeps you hooked from start to finish. Every character is richly developed and adds depth to the narrative. I found myself staying in my vehicle long after reaching my destination just to continue listening. Often, having to drag myself away, to keep myself from being late for work.

As for the narration, it’s some of the best I’ve ever heard. Will’s skillful use of inflections and accents brings the books characters to life, Creating an immersive experience, that sucks you deeper into the world Evan has created .

I thoroughly enjoyed every second spent listening to this book, and I am excited to see what Evan does with the sequel, I’ll be eagerly following both his and Will’s work going forward.

Engaging story that kept me on my toes!

If you’re like me, you’re always worried about picking up a new book from a new narrator and author because you don’t know if you’ll enjoy either.

I will tell you now you will not have that problem with this book or narrator. Fantastic story that kept me listening the whole way through, and wanting more. Incredible narrator, who was a great choice for this book- fantastic crisp voice.

The only problem you will have is waiting for the next one to come out.

I look forward to listening to more works by Evan and Will whether together or separately.
