Bambi, a Life in the Woods is a coming-of-age story that follows the life of Bambi, a deer, from his birth through old age. As Bambi grows and matures, he experiences the loss of his mother, the finding of a mate, and learns about betrayal and essential lessons of the forest from his father. But most importantly, he realizes the danger posed by “He,” the term used by the animals to describe human hunters in the forest. In the end, Bambi learns the vital tools to survive in an unforgiving world.

This version was translated from the original German novel written by Felix Salten and depicts the harsh and hostile environment encountered by animals living in the wild and is not recommended for younger children.

Overall we loved this audio book. Can highly recommend it.

Hearing the actual story compared to the the well-known Disney version was different but the story is well written and we could imagine the world of Bambi and be immersed in it. We loved this version even more.

The narration was excellent with various voices for each character.

I really like happy endings and I do like Disneys version much better. Also I think it’s hard for children to understand. Some tings I didn’t even understand

It’s not for me
