This story goes beyond, my beloved, Barbie. It includes corporate intrigue, betrayals, and process of innovation, of Mattel and other companies. The story touches on several serious topics, but, has plenty of humor. The author shows, the book's numerous characters, in their own individual light. The narrator does a superb job of maintaining mood and pace.

Fascinating and funny

This is a wide ranging history of Barbie herself, the business, legal and even espionage conflicts that surround her, and her cultural impact. Endlessly fascinating, perfect narration, a very artful book that is really funny to boot. Our daughter is grown and out of the house but there’s still a box of Barbies under her childhood bed. Barbie lives.
