This 10 session language course teaches German in the Austrian German with its distinct pronunciations and word/phrase usage. The course starts with more basic everyday phrases such as introductions and answers to questions and then progresses to full sentences of increasing grammatical complexity later in the course. A lot of the vocabulary is cumulative, so words learned previously are then used in sentences later in the course. The course concludes with a complete review of the material in session 10, this serves as a way to identify any gaps in your knowledge and/or a way to refresh your knowledge of the material after you have completed the course. Throughout the focus is on words and phrases that can be easily put to use making the process of learning immediately beneficial. Also, remember that this course will build your understanding of Austrian German from first principles, so if you are already confident in German, but looking to understand the specific nuances of Austrian German, this course will likely be too slow for you, since it is paced as an introduction to the Austrian German language. Austrian German was introduced in the 18th century and is spoken in South Tyrol in Italy, in addition to Austria. This well-paced introductory course is the ideal way to get started learning Austrian German.
