The narrator, Bucky, has to come to the rescue, but his only avenue is through the galactic matrix inter-tubes. His story is augmented by a second narrator who offers his own opinion of the action. This story is an action farce, an absurdist play with actors dressed in power combat armor. Technology has run amok and not only controls most every aspect of society, it fails at almost every aspect. The galaxy has become too complicated, especially in the battle suits of the troopers. Era Ten is set a thousand years in the future, a dystopia for those immune to the disease of model citizenship. "Jump and Die" uses characters and the setting of the first novel in the series, “Our Only Fear is Fear Itself”. You need not have read that to enjoy this, even though this is the second tale.
