Before he died, Christine Lambert’s father won a piece of eight in a poker game. How was he to know the coin was part of a puzzle that when solved revealed the location of Jean Laffite’s treasure? Now Christine must rescue her ghostly father and find the treasure before a killer beats her to it.

Matthias Blake is as out of place in New Orleans as a raven in a flock of hummingbirds. He has serious work to do, but how can he resist a lady in distress? Even if that lady can win a fight armed with only a hat pin?

As Christine and Matthias search New Orleans haunted streets, a shadowy evil watches and waits.

Can they save Christine's father or will she join him on the other side?

Bring back voice actors!

This story seemed to be good and I’d probably enjoy it, but the computer generated voice is annoying. There are weird little burps in the narration and emphasis on words and syllabus are sometimes weird. Glad I’m not paying for it.

The computer voice was awful

The story is probably good. I will read it as I like Julie Mulhern, but the AI voice is disconcerting and unnatural.
