Lucas Oakes is one of Lindsey Point's local boys and proud of it. He's still nursing the scars of losing both his best friend and his fiancée, so he keeps to himself and is more than happy to work construction, volunteer as an EMT, and play Santa in his sleepy hometown. The last thing he needs is a nosy, out-of-town journalist snooping around. But he can't say no when Sophie Smithwaite asks him to fill in as cameraman, swept away by a powerful attraction he's never felt before.

NYC cable reporter Sophie Smithwaite is only in town for a story. Finding out a hunky local boy can run one of her cameras is just a bonus, until she finds herself falling for strong, silent Lucas. But when Sophie discovers a personal connection to Lindsey Point's haunted lighthouse, she'll stop at nothing to uncover the truth - even if it means risking her life and the lives of others.

Suddenly, Sophie and Lucas find themselves in the middle of a 50-year-old mystery, and someone in town isn't happy with the secrets they're uncovering. As the mystery deepens, both Sophie and Lucas become targets of vicious attacks on the beach, and they'll have to decide whether true love is worth destroying legends and risking it all.

I loved this book. The story was great. I would definitely listen to other books by Allie Boniface. Narrator Barbara Nevins Taylor did a wonderful job. I would have given the book 4.5 if I could have. I felt the story only had 2 drawbacks. The love scene needed just a little more detail. It didn't need to be as steamy as so many books are today. It just needed a bit more detail to seal the H and h's chemistry. My larger issue was the book needed more detail at the end and an epilogue. When I invest a lot of time into a book I love, I want to know what happened to all the characters. However, I loved the mystery in the book and all of the unusual twists. Kudos to Allie Boniface.

This story has some surprising twists and turns. Which made a great story. A 50 year old murder suicide, and a town suffering a mass loss in a tourist town, with a lot of closed up locals. Makes it hard to come by answers, but the truth has a way of working itself out!

I loved this book right from the beginning! The home town feel where the whole town sticks together and watches it out for each other. The Ghost story the all love to talk about and the way I could see them all looking up at the lighthouse. The story was masterfully written with characters I cared about. It's has everything you want in a book. Intrigue, suspense, romance, family all in and wonderful seaside town where I could practically smell, the salty air. Highly recommended this book
