Major Johnny Marshall isn't flying planes over the Pacific any longer. On their seventeenth mission, he and his bomber crew ran out of luck. Johnny and his buddies Tag and Rick made it back home, but Tag and Rick are a little worse for the wear. Johnny has set up shop as a detective in 1944 Los Angeles and everyone knows the war is almost over. After splitting a windfall from an insurance job with his pretty Mexican secretary Juanita, he heads to the beach for a little R&R. But there he meets Susan, who may or may not be as wonderful as she seems. With a need to see Susan again, Johnny walks in on a caper involving murder, hot diamonds, blackmail, and maybe, his old pals Tag and Rick. He'll have to head South of the Border with Juanita to discover if Susan is his dream girl, or just another nightmare.
