Dorothea Brande's Becoming a Writer remains evergreen decades after it was first written. Brande believed passionately that although people have varying amounts of talent, anyone can write. She also insists that writing can be both taught and learned.

This is Dorothea Brande's legacy to all those who have ever wanted to express their ideas in written form. A sound, practical, inspirational, and charming approach to writing, it fulfills on finding the writer's magic. This brand new audio edition is expressively narrated by Bonnie Agan.

It is dense compact wisdom. This is one of those books that should be implanted into a writers brain. But further, it explores the creative process in a way that crosses over into other art forms — and life in general. This book is so relevant and enlightened that it seems hard to imagine it was published in 1934. The 'typewriter or pencil' discussion is comical now but assures us there's little new under the sun.

This book will encourage you to write. It will help you overcome the internal blocks that prevent you from writing creatively. Though it is enjoyable to listen to the audio version, the audio sometimes clips off the end of some words (2 or 3 words). Despite this, I still would recommend you consider buying this encouraging audio program.
