Their love was supposed to last forever. But when life delivered blow after devastating blow, Yasmen and Josiah Wade found that love had its limits...it couldn't save their marriage.

Yasmen wasn't prepared for how her life fell apart, but she's finally starting to find joy again. She and Josiah have found a new rhythm: co-parenting their two kids and running a thriving business together. Yet, like magnets, they're always drawn back to each other, and now they're beginning to wonder if they're truly ready to let go of everything they once had.

One stolen kiss leads to another...and then more. It's hot. It's illicit. It's good - until it starts to hurt again. As old wounds reopen, Yasmen and Josiah wonder if it is too late for them to find forever.

Or could they be even better, the second time around?

Award-winning and bestselling 'powerhouse' author Kennedy Ryan is at her absolute best in this compelling, scorching novel about hope and healing, and what it truly means to love for a lifetime (USA Today).

Depression is truly a thief, it’s a liar. It makes us make regretful decisions.

Yasmen and Josiah experience two devastating losses; loss of a parental figure (Josiah’s aunt) and that of a child (their unborn child) in quick succession. They deal with these losses differently. Yasmen sinks into deep depression and feels resentful towards her husband (now ex) because in her eyes he seems undeterred by these losses. He’s always on the move and doesn’t seem to want to slow down and work through the grief with wife (now ex). What Yasmen doesn’t know is that that’s Josiah’s way of coping.

This books takes through how despite everything they are going through they work well, there’s ambers of love and an attraction between them.

They experience a full circle moment when they find their way back to each other’s arms with so much intensity.

Kennedy Ryan beautifully wades through mental issues, divorce, grief, miscarriage so delicately telling a story that so many identify with. It’s beautifully done.

This book got me letting out some moans and frantically fanning myself- some scenes are hot!!

Let me just say there’s something about a black man’s love, it’s gold.

Beautiful

This story in particular had my attention from the jump as I've been struggling to let go of a personal relationship. it helped me to process and come to terms with things I can't change.

I needed this!

Interesting read. Showing another way of a love story. That was refreshing. The fact it speaks of depression and divorce and how even the man was scarred by it. I loved the way he loved her so. Mother-daughter dynamic was finally explained and addressed then healing could take place.
One thing I just could not understand...why was she so torn up by Bird's death 🫠 your hudbands aunt.... while your mother was very alive and present and it did not seem that the relationship between her and her mother was that bad. That really threw me off.
Following her depression, she changed her life up, including her friends.... hectic!
Do the friends no longer go to the yoga they met at?
Overall a beautiful read.

A different take on a love story, refreshing!
