Every story needs a villain.

I need an escape.

From the fear.

From the pain.

From the creeping shadow that’s hung over my life for as long as I can remember.

What I don’t need is a husband. Not that my parents want to hear it.

Every three years, the young eligible men and women in my community gather in Citrine Cove to party, flirt, and leave the island with a fiancé on their arm.

Falling in love optional.

The last thing I want is to participate in this sham. Especially not alongside the boy who tricked me. The boy who dumped me. And the boy who tortured me.

Love is not in the cards for me, but so much of my life is out of my control. Why should this be any different?

Preston, Nathan, and Carter are breaking down my walls. Breaking my rules. Making the girl who hates fairy tales believe in a happily ever after. Every day with them they drag me deeper into their depths, singing that siren song I can’t resist.

Unfortunately, my life belongs to only one man…

…and he’ll kill to keep it that way.

The audio is terrible. Hard to follow the story. Can't tell who is taking half the time since there's no change of voice and no inflection.

If this was narrated better, I may have been able to listen to the entire book. I'm not a fan of the virtual voice. You miss the emotions of a real person. Ruby Vincent always knocks it out of the park with her storytelling, and with the virtual voice, it completely ruined the experience of this book.
