Now available for the first time in audio, this spellbinding novel by New York Times bestselling author Nancy Thayer tells the fascinating story of a beautiful and successful woman who appears to have it all - but gives it all up to find real happiness.

As the host of the successful television show Fabulous Homes, Joanna Jones travels the country showcasing the glamorous homes of the rich and famous. Pouring every ounce of herself into her demanding, rewarding work, Joanna is living her dream. Despite great professional success and an intense, passionate relationship, she still feels something is missing.

When an unexpected pregnancy forces her to reevaluate her life, Joanna decides to leave behind frenetic Manhattan. Beckoning her to the gorgeous island of Nantucket is an old sea captain’s house set above the Atlantic Ocean. There, entranced by the aroma of the sea air and roses, Joanna builds a new life for her small family. But New York isn’t done with her yet. Handsome television executive Jake Corcoran appears at her front door, eager for her attentions and enticing her back to the city. Torn between the past and the future, Joanna must decide what it is that truly makes a house into a home.

I have read many many books over my many years, this is one of my top favorites! Wonderful story I’m so glad it was so long, thank you so much Nancy. The thing is especially one place it was way too sad, housefire, I don’t think it all should’ve been so awful especially not losing the two pets, it was very very hard to get through that part, usually I don’t get that bothered by stories but that one really really got me.
It did take some time getting into the story as it usually does with Nancy’s for me. But once I do they’re wonderful. I think it would be nice if you somehow wrote series so that the same people were in several at least, so that it’s easier to get into them to know what’s going on. Thank you for all the books you’ve written, I’ve listened to them all I think and read most of them also. I am now re-listening to them all as I have them on Audible on my cell phone. it’s been so long since I did I barely remember the stories, so even more enjoyable the second time around or third! By the way, the narrator on this, Sarah Zimmerman is excellent! The narrator makes the book in my humble opinion.

Excellent!

I liked the story and the characters very much!
The narration was mostly ok, but there were enough mispronunciation’s to make me wince!
One example is the word realtor. The narrator said, “realator.” Another oops was Hermes when speaking about a scarf. She pronounced it “hermes.”
Also, cement is the element when mixed with sand and/or gravel that makes concrete. If you stepped on cement you’d get stuck.
There were other mistakes, but I enjoyed the book anyway.

Good listen
